A Christmas Reflection
Happy Christmas!
The miracle of Christmas is actually overwhelming and a profound mystery. God himself was made man and dwelt amongst us. In the most compelling and almighty act of love for us, Christ came in the innocence of a child, knowing in the manger that it would end on the Cross. An earthly ending for an eternal salvation and eternal truth. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only son.”
This miracle, while truly beyond full human comprehension, is worthy of all praise, joy, and charity of heart. In the magic of Christmas, in the spirit of the season—the gift giving, the decorations, the caroling, the baking, the laughter, the stories, the prayers, and the love we all put into it, these are little reminders and expressions of the love of God. They are temporal expressions of a spiritual truth.
Love.
I pray that the joy and spirit of God’s love in the innocence and mystery of the Christ Child in Bethlehem will fill all our hearts and minds this day. May the love of Christ in the giggles and cooing of the Infant Savior that most assuredly brought smiles and joy to the Holy Family, bring the same to you in all the ways we share this day. Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever. Amen.
A very Happy Christmas to you all!
